Spencer Rattler announces NFL decision

Gamecock Quarterback Spencer Rattler announced his NFL decision on Wednesday afternoon.

South Carolina’s signal-caller will declare for the NFL Draft, according to his post on Instagram.

Rattler transferred from Oklahoma to South Carolina in 2022 after three years with the Sooners. He led the Gamecocks to an 8-5 record in 2022, throwing for over 3,000 yards, 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The 2022 season was highlighted by wins over Tennessee and Clemson.

This year, Rattler finished with 3,186 yards, 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His single-season yardage is third in program history behind Dylan Thompson and Todd Ellis.

“This place meant everything to me,” Rattler said. “Coming here, in two years and just enjoying every moment: the adversity, the success. I wanted to be a part of change in this program. And I feel like I put 110% effort into it every day.”

Rattler ended his career at USC with 6,212 career passing yards, finishing fifth all-time in USC history.
