SC man blames sticky floor mat for erratic driving

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 31-year-old South Carolina man suspected of drunken driving blames his erratic driving on a sticky floor mat.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/nViUcz ) that Joshua Munns of North Augusta was arrested about 9 p.m. Sunday and charged with driving under the influence.

A police report says the officer stopped Munns after he made an abrupt turn onto a street, causing tires to squeal, and continued to swerve through the neighborhood, fish-tailing his vehicle.

The report says Munns told the officer his floor mat was causing his accelerator to stick.
