COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Columbia Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit is investigating after thousands of dollars worth of kitchen and cooking equipment belonging to a well-known church was stolen.

Officers say the stolen equipment owned by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral is estimated to around $50-60, 0000 worth of merchandise.

The victims told officers the stolen equipment was used during the annual ‘Columbia’s Greek Festival’ which has been a Cathedral tradition for more than thirty years.

Also, officers say multiple refrigerators, deep freezers, deep fryers, cooling tables and food warming sets were stolen from a Gregg Street storage facility last month.

CPD officers say they were able to find and seize valuable evidence at one of the crime scenes to aid the investigation.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
