RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– An Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center employee was arrested after an investigation revealed an inmate relationship, said RCSD.
Ja’la Gladden is accused of having a relationship with an inmate at the jail and providing him with a phone.
In addition to investigators finding out about the relationship, Richland County Sheriff’s Department says Gladden provided the inmate with a cellphone so he could communicate with her on a regular basis on her personal cell number.
Investigators say she never disclosed the nature of her relationship with the inmate to the jail and did not notify the jail of the contraband cell phone.
Gladden was arrested and charged with misconduct in office and furnishing contraband on Wednesday, Feb 28.
She was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center but a bond has not yet been set.
