Lexington Co. man sentenced to 20 years for child sexual abuse material

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– A spokesperson for the US Attorney’s Office says a Lexington man will spend 20 years in prison for uploading images of child sexual abuse to his Facebook page and then sending them to others.

Officials say evidence presented in court  showed that in August 0f 2020, Ronnie Dawsey uploaded the images and distributed them using the Telegram app.

In addition to his prison sentence, officials say Dawsey will undergo court-ordered supervision for the rest of his life.

He was also ordered to pay more than $36,000 in restitution to the victims and register as a sex offender.
