FBI: Alaska blowout passengers may be crime victims

(CNN)– Passengers who were aboard an Alaska Airlines flight when a door plug blew out in-flight could be victims of a crime.

That’s according to a letter the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) sent to the passengers on Tuesday.

The letters did not say why the passengers could be victims of a crime but noted the FBI is investigating the case.

The FBI said it could not confirm or deny whether it is investigating, citing Department of Justice policy.
