S.C. couple stranded in Africa after missing cruise ship

A Garden City couple’s dream vacation turned into a nightmare after they took a cruise to Africa and ended up stranded.

The fiasco happened when Jill and Jay Campbell’s cruise ship left without them after their tour guide was late getting them back to the ship. The tour operator contacted the captain to let them know eight passengers were going to be late, but they were still refused entry on board.

The Campbell’s say they are getting help from the U.S. Embassy in Angola, and are in the process of reboarding the boat in Senegal.
