Sumter Co. arrests man accused of attempted murder

Sumter Co., SC (WOLO) — The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of Attempted Murder following a shooting that took place Monday April 1, 2024. According to deputies, 49 year old Roosevelt Green is suspected of a shooting that took place along St. Paul’s Church Road around 11:30 pm.

Authorities say during their investigation they determined Green entered a home uninvited and demanded money from the victim. Officials say the victim told them they were held down and beaten with the gun before Green opened fire shooting the victim at least once.

That victim was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Green has been taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.  Deputies say a bond was denied during a hearing Thursday.
