College students spread word about side hustles during pop-up at Soda City Market

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–  It’s great to have a side hustle to make some extra money and this weekend, college students had the chance to spread the word about their own during the Student Side Hustle Pop-Up event on Saturday.

It’s an initiative that comes about from Mayor Daniel Rickenmann’s Collegiate Engagement Council which consists of a group of students from all seven universities and colleges in the city.

The pop-up allowed students to showcase goods and services from their small businesses to the community with barriers.

The City of Columbia provided tables and licensing waiving the tables fees.

The mayor also had a booth set up to hear from citizens and get feedback on city matters.
