Irmo basketball coach Tim Whipple announces retirement

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–A fixture of Midlands high school basketball is calling it a career.
A spokesperson for Lexington-Richland School District Five says Irmo High School Basketball Coach Tim Whipple announced his retirement to students Tuesday.His retirement comes after 43 years on the bench.
Whipple coached the Yellow Jackets to 11 state titles including this past season and more than 800 wins.
