School district invests in student athletes safety with the purchase of Guardian Caps

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Kershaw County School District has made an investment in the safety of student athletes, said the district.
According to the district, they bought what are known as Guardian Caps for all of their 500 football players in the middle and high school students to during practice. According to the district this shell cover that is worn over the players actual helmet has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of head contact injuries. According to officials, the state of the art piece of equipment also insulates the helmets, keeping the students head up to 20 degrees cooler giving them comfort and protection.
Rhea Faris, Director of Student Services for Kershaw County School District released a statement regarding the purchase of the cover saying,
“Student safety is our top priority,” said Rhea Faris, Director of Student Services for Kershaw County School District. “I am grateful that our Student Activities Directors worked together to recognize this need and propose the purchase of the Guardian Caps. We believe this investment is a proactive step to safeguarding the well-being of our young athletes, demonstrating that our district is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for our students.”
