Care.com to refund $8 million to customers

 

(CNN)– The Federal Trade Commission says Care.com has agreed to pay eight-and-a-half million dollars to address “unlawful practices” claims.

Care.com connects users with caregivers, housekeeping services, and tutors,

But according to the FTC, the company allegedly misled job seekers and posters.

Regulators accused the company of using deceptive design practices to trap consumers in subscriptions.

The FTC says the eight-and-a-half million dollars will go to customers who were harmed by the company.
