Two dead after 2-vehicle collision in Orangeburg County

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Highway Patrol said two people are dead after a van collided head-on with a car on Saturday morning.
The collision happened on I-26 eastbound near the 159-mile marker, about five miles east of Bowman at around 4:20 a.m.
SC troopers said a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling east on I-26 and a 2003 Honda Odyssey van was traveling west on I-26 when the van hit the car head-on.
The driver of both vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger of the Ford was taken to MUSC Health Orangeburg.
Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office identified the drivers as Dequan Hampton, 30, of Orangeburg and Edward Lee Myers, 66, of Cotulla, TX.
The collision is under investigation by the SCHP.
