COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Texas Governor Rick Perry campaigns throughout the state wanting to ‘meet eye to eye’ with voters. The republican presidential hopeful rounded out a group of three GOP candidates to hit the Palmetto State this week. First, Michele Bachmann, then Hermain Cain. Perry bashed President Obama’s health care policies and touted fiscal responsibility and job creation as top priorities but offered little detail on how to accomplish those goals should he become the nation’s commander-in-chief. At $75 a plate, Perry delivered a seven-minute speech to about 200 supporters in downtown Columbia Thursday. He aggressively shunned local news media, refusing to take questions. Instead, the made a short appeal to voters and shook hands before leaving for Greenville. His South Carolina swing-through is expected to wrap up Saturday.
