Fairfield County deputies arrest woman in connection with credit card fraud case
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County deputies have arrested a woman in connection with a credit card fraud case, said the sheriff’s office.
On October 16, multiple residents in Winnsboro were reporting unauthorized credit card charges involving CVS.
Fairfield County deputies identified CVS employee Shy’Lexis Coleman, as being involved in the incident.
Investigators say they saw surveillance footage which showed Coleman discreetly taking pictures of the victims’ card.
When arrested Coleman admitted that she had multiple pictures of other credit cards on her phone.
Deputies believe that other might be involved and is keeping the investigation ongoing.
People are encouraged to review their statements regularly and report any suspicious activity immediately.
The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind residents of important steps to protect your financial information:
1. Keep Your Card in Sight: Be mindful when handing over your credit or debit card. If possible, keep it within view during transactions.
2. Watch for Suspicious Behavior: Take note if someone appears to handle your card out of your view or near their personal devices.

4. Report Suspicious Activity: If you notice unauthorized transactions, contact your card issuer immediately and report it to local authorities.
