Lexington-Richland School District Five cellphone ban

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– One of the Midlands largest school districts will join the rest of the state in officially banning cellphones beginning in January.

Officials with Lexington-Richland School District Five say when students return to class after the holidays devices that can access the internet or a cellular signal will have to be silenced and stored away.

However, exceptions will be made in emergency and medical circumstances.
