Richland One launches competitive E-sports program
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Gamers in one Midlands school district can now compete with other students across the country.
Richland District One launched its competitive E-sports program this semester.
In 2024, the district approved funding for each of the seven high schools to have a gaming lab that includes 12 to 14 gaming computers and 1 to 2 Nintendo Switches.
There are 21 teams across the district, with each team having 3 to 5 players.
