Orangeburg deputies increase reward for attempted murder suspect, suspect caught in Sumter County

Sumter County, SC (WOLO) — Sumter County deputies say Sincere Gibbs has been arrested and is being held at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Orangeburg, SC (WOLO) — The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office continues to ask members of the public for their help in finding a teenager accused of Attempted Murder.

Law enforcement has been searching for 19 year old Sincere Gibbs since March 29 after authorities say the teen started shooting into a crowd of party goers along Five Chop Road. Officials say seven people are the party were struck by bullets, while various others were injured when they were trampled in the middle of the chaos.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says they are now offering more for the monetary reward for information helping them locate, arrest and convict Gibbs. The U.S. Marshal’s Service donated the first $5,000 dollars, and an anonymous donor has now offered another $5,000 dollars bringing the reward to a total of $10,000 dollars.

Ravenell releasing a statement Thursday night saying,

“I told you on Monday that he is sick of me and I am sick of him,” the sheriff said. “Well, guess what? The community is sick of him as well.” going on to say ““I also said on Monday the weight of the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals, SLED, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Sumter PD were on you,” Ravenell said. “And now the community doesn’t appear be as safe as it seems to you any more does it, Mr. Gibbs?”

Authorities say they consider Gibbs to be armed and dangerous. If you see him or know where he may be you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1888-CRIME-SC.
