Back-to-School events 2025
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– As students and parents prepare to get ready for the new school year, there are events in the Midlands to help them out for the school year.
If you are need of school supplies or simply want a family friendly event to enjoy, here is a list below.
Gaston Police Department’s Back-to-School Bash:
Gaston Police Department is hosting an back-to-school event on Friday, July 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The free public event will be held at 131 N. Carlisle Street.
There will be free fully stocked book bags (over 300 available at a first come, first served basis), a foam party for the kids, slides, bounce houses, and food.
Cayce Police Department’s Back-to-School Bash:
The Cayce Police Department is hosting a back-to-school bash later this month.
You can donate to their school supply drive now through July 25.
Cayce officers will hand out those supplies on July 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
There will also be snow cones, inflatables, and more.
Lee County:
There will be an back-to-school event for the Lee County community.
The event will be held on July 25, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lee County Parks and Recreation (397 Chappell Drive, Bishopville).
There will be free school supplies, music and refreshments.
Officials say a child must be present.
Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office:
Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office is holding its 4th annual Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 26.
The bash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 205 S Means Street in Ridgeway.
Families who attend will receive free school supplies, and food.
Children must be present to receive supplies.
Along with the school supplies, will be food and games to kick off the new school year.
Richland School District Two:
The school district will host a back-to-school bash on Saturday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
District officials say there will be music, games, giveaways, and food at 763 Fashion Drive.
Sumter Police Department:
The police department says its Back-to-School Bash will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at Birnie Hope Center.
The bash will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on S. Purdy Street.
There will be a DJ, face painting, ballon artists, Kona Ice, hotdogs, and more.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 years or older.
