SC AG joins coalition for proof of citizenship for people registering to vote

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is joining a 14 state coalition calling for anyone registering to vote in federal elections to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.

The coalition is supporting a petition first brought by the America First Legal Foundation.

Currently proof of citizenship is not required to vote in South Carolina’s state elections.
