SC, Germany sign joint letter of intent

 

COLUMBIA, S.C.(WOLO)– South Carolina and Germany are formalizing their economic partnership.

Friday, Nov. 21, SC Governor Henry McMaster and the German ambassador to the United States signed a joint Declaration of Intent.

It establishes a formal economic partnership between the two, prioritizing collaboration in energy resiliency, mobility technologies, and life sciences.

Officials say the agreement will help bring new investment and jobs to the state.

According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Germany is the state’s largest export partner and already home to 270 German companies employing more than 44 thousand South Carolinians.
