Columbia man charged with murder following stabbing

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say Ivory Meminger of Walterboro is charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime after a stabbing Tuesday night.

Investigators say it happened on the 500 block of Kimpton Dr.

According to police officers responded to the home after a fight involving family members.

During the fight, police say, one person was stabbed and died at the scene.

Police say Meminger was arrested at the home.

“This is a deeply unfortunate incident involving family members, and our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this tragedy,” said Columbia Police Deputy Chief Melron Kelly.

The Richland Co. Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Emmanuel Meminger, 38, of Columbia.
