US Attorney charges Clover woman with embezzlement

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A 25-year-old Clover woman has been charged with embezzling more than $223,000 from a South Carolina machine shop.

U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles says Megan Elizabeth Boyters has been charged in a two-count indictment in connection with a scheme to take more than $223,000 from IND-Tech. Nettles says the company specializes in textile parts and repair work.

Boyters is charged with wire fraud, a charge that carries up to 30 years in prison. She also is charged with one count of making false or counterfeit securities, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
