Lee County Riot trial begins
LEE COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The trial for one of the inmates involved in the deadly Lee County Correctional Riot in 2018 is just underway.
Jury selection for Larry White’s trial began at 9:30 a.m. at the Lee County Courthouse.
Authorities say White is charged with killing three people during the riot on April 15th of 2018 which started after illegal cell phones were brought into the prison.
He’s being tried for several charges including 1st degree assault and battery by mob and criminal conspiracy.
In total, the state grand jury indicted 29 suspects connected to the incident.
