SLED rescues 19 dogs, charges 4 Sumter Co. men in dogfighting investigation

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged four men after dogfighting investigation, says SLED.

Andrew Jeffrey Bryant Jr., 39, Tevin V. Joyner, 32, and Orlando Raynell Coullette, 49, have been charged with criminal conspiracy, as well as four counts each of animal fighting or baiting, and four counts each of ill treatment of animals on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

SLED also charged Robert Brandon Hansley, 44, with criminal conspiracy, presence at a facility of animal fighting or baiting – 1st offense, four counts of animal fighting or baiting, and four counts of ill treatment of animals.

The four men were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.

The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and Sumter Police Department assisted with the arrests.
