Inmate found guilty in connection with Lee County prison riot

LEE COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– An inmate was found guilty in connection with the deadliest prison riot in state history Thursday in Lee County.

30-year-old Larry White was convicted today of three counts of first-degree assault and battery, and one count of criminal conspiracy.

In April of 2018, White took part in a riot at Lee County Correctional Institution that resulted in seven inmates deaths and dozens of injuries.

He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
