CPD investigating vehicle-pedestrian collision on Harden Street

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police Department (CPD)’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision that happened Thursday night, say police.

Officers say the collision happened on Thursday, September 24, in the 600 block of Harden Street around 10 p.m.

Preliminary information indicates a vehicle traveling south on Harden Street hit a pedestrian who was crossing in a designated crosswalk, says Columbia PD.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pedestrian safety requires everyone to pay attention,” states Deputy Chief Melron Kelly. “Drivers should eliminate distractions, stay focused on the roadway, and always watch for pedestrians. A moment of distraction can have serious consequences.”
