Fire devastates Hartsville’s Wingz and Ale restaurant, GoFundMe available to help
HARTSVILLE, SC (WOLO) — According to the Hartsville Fire Department, firefighters responded to a blaze Wednesday morning at Wingz and Ale, a popular spot for locals.
While structural damage was minimal, the fire caused extensive damage to the interior — leaving the restaurant inoperable.
A post on the restaurant’s Facebook reads, “It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce Wingz will be closed until further notice due to a devastating fire. We are heartbroken and still trying to process this unimaginable loss. Wingz has been so much more than a business to us – it has been a second home filled with memories, friendships, and family, to say the least. We ask that you please keep our staff and their families in your thoughts and prayers as we all navigate this difficult and uncertain time. Thank you to our amazing community for the love, support, and prayers. We are forever grateful & we hope to see everyone again soon. “
HFD’s Chief Ricky Flowers tells ABC Columbia the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
In the meantime, Hartsville native Benji Spivey has set up a GoFundMe to help employees as they face lost wages and stress from the incident.
