SC female inmate turns self in, dies in jail

SUMTER, S.C. (AP) — A 32-year-old Sumter woman has died after she was found unresponsive in her cell at the Sumter County jail.
Coroner Harvin Bullock told The Sumter Item (http://bit.ly/1oKFOQ7 ) that preliminary reports show no signs of foul play but an autopsy and toxicology report will be conducted on Jennifer Lynn Sharp-Adams.
Sharp-Adams turned herself in to officials Monday. Officials said she and 41-year-old Charles Yingling of Sumter were suspected of being involved in pinning a man between their cars and dragging him a short distance on U.S. 15 last month.
Officials say the unidentified man suffered a severe cut on his right leg. Sheriff’s Lt. Robert Burnish says Yingling is still being sought.
