SC State Museum celebrates 25th anniversary of Hubble Scope

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The South Carolina State Museum is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope.
The museum is holding several activities Friday evening, including a viewing in the museum’s observatory and other family-friendly hands-on activities.
The Hubble was deployed in 1990. Hubble has an unobstructed view of the universe and scientists have used it to observe distant stars, galaxies as well as the planets in the solar system.
Viewers may see live streaming from the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., as well as exhibits of sidewalk astronomy.
Tickets are $5 per person and free for museum members.
