Initial jobless claims increase in SC

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–There’s been an increase in the weekly number of unemployment claims in the state.
More than 19,000 people filed for the benefits last week, an increase of more than 3,000 from the previous week.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Department of Employment and Workforce has paid out more than $3 billion in unemployment benefits.
