Occupy Protesters Heed Governor’s Warning
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A day after dozens of Occupy Columbia protesters are arrested and Governor Nikki Haley imposes a 6:00pm curfew on demonstrators, they obey the request, but say they are not done fighting for their cause. Picketers say they will regroup their efforts, now that they have been told by Haley to remove themselves and their belongings off the State House lawn by 6:00 each night. However, many of them tell ABC Columbia News they will go to jail again if it means more people hear their message. The Occupy Columbia movement mirrors the Occupy Wall Street movement, which protests what followers believe to be an unfair distribution of the wealth in the country.
