2 found dead in Easley; Greenville man charged
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 21-year-old Greenville man they say beat two men to death with a tire iron at his home and then dumped their bodies in Pickens County.
Investigators charged Julio Cevedua with two counts of murder. Cevedua was arrested Sunday in Horry County for failing to show up in court for traffic violations. Deputies say murder charges were added a day later after officers interviewed him.
Authorities say they have no motive for the killing of 26-year-old Bonifacio Medina and 24-year-old Jose Alfredo Cortez De Roa, who were last seen alive June 12.
Two men looking for scrap metal found the bodies last Thursday in a field in Pickens County.
Cevedua remains in the Greenville County jail without bond. It wasn’t clear if he has an attorney.
