Pelion Teen Charged with Killing 2-Year-Old

Pelion, SC(WOLO)– A 17 year-old Pelion woman is in custody, accused of killing a 2 year-old child. Deputies with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department say Desiree Almgren is charged with unlawful conduct towards a child and homicide by child abuse. Investigators say Sunday, April 8, the child’s father returned home from work to find the child unresponsive, laying on a bed and that Almgren had left the home. Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman says the child died from a brain hemorrhage caused by head trauma.
