Woman drowns in neighbor’s Charleston pool
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston police are investigating the death of a 31-year-old woman whose body was found in the pool of a downtown home.
Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kelly Kraus says 31-year-old Anna Elizabeth Watson died from drowning, with no signs of foul play.
Police found Watson in the pool at about 7 a.m. Saturday. Kraus says Watson lived next door and regularly swam in the pool.
Her uncle says Watson was taking care of her neighbor’s pets while they were on vacation. He says Watson was chasing a dog that got loose, slipped, hit her head and drowned in the pool.
Watson had graduated from the University of North Carolina and was planning to enter seminary.
