Armed suspect wanted by 3 law enforcement agencies taken into custody

(WOLO) — A Newberry man wanted by wanted by three law enforcement agencies was taken into custody 28-year-old Maurice Bailey was arrested after authorities say they were able to track him to Abbeville. Bailey was wanted on three counts of assault with intent to kill, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, forgery, and a general sessions bench warrant Officials say Bailey was armed with a .380 caliber pistol when he was arrested, but was taken into custody without incident. He is being held at the Newberry County Detention Center. He was charged by the Newberry Police Department with three counts of assault and battery with intent to kill and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. He is charged by the Newberry County Sheriff‘s Office with forgery. He is charged by the South Carolina Department of Probation, Pardon, and Parole with a violation of probation, he is currently on probation for possession of a firearm obliterated serial number. He is also charged with a general sessions bench warrant for failure to appear in court, where he has pending charges for distribution of crack cocaine, distribution of crack cocaine within proximity of a park or school, and unlawful carrying of a pistol. His bond has not yet been set.
