Gamecocks move Pro Day

The South Carolina football program will hold its annual Pro Timing Day on Tuesday, March 20, when 12 draft-eligible former Gamecock players are slated to work out for NFL coaches and scouts.

No. 7/7 South Carolina opens its NCAA Tournament Fri., March 16, as a No. 2 seed in the Albany Region, facing North Carolina A&T at 7:30 p.m. in the second game of the double-header at Colonial Life Arena.

Gamecocks face #2 Florida to open SEC play

The University of South Carolina baseball team opens play in the Southeastern Conference as the Gamecocks welcome No. 2 Florida to Founders Park for a weekend series. The series starts on Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. with Saturday’s game beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday’s series finale will start at 1 p.m. 

Gamecocks schedule games with App State, Troy and Georgia State

The Gamecocks have agreed to a three-game series with Appalachian State University. The Mountaineers will come to Columbia and Williams-Brice Stadium on November 9, 2019, with the Gamecocks making a return trip to Boone, N.C., on September 20, 2025. An additional game is scheduled for Columbia at a date to be determined during the 2027 season.

Ellington agrees to new deal with Texans

Former Gamecocks two-sport star Bruce Ellington reportedly is resigning with the Houston Texans after joining the team last season in training camp.

Wilson named finalist for National Player of the Year

South Carolina senior forward A’ja Wilson has been named a finalist for the 2018 Wade Trophy, the WBCA announced Wednesday. The Hopkins, S.C., native is one of four finalists for the national player of the year honor, joining Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu, Ohio State’s Kelsey Mitchell and UConn’s Katie Lou Samuelson.

Gamecocks win fifth-straight before SEC play

South Carolina (12-5) had its offense clicking on Wednesday evening at Founders Park in a 12-3 win over Harvard (6-8). The Gamecocks belted out 14 hits, knocking in 11 runs.

White lifts Gamecocks to walk-off win over Texas Tuesday night

Hollywood couldn’t have scripted a better ending as Krystan White blasted her first-career walk-off home run to lift No. 17 South Carolina softball to a 1-0 win over Texas in eight innings Tuesday night at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. The victory was Carolina’s first of the season in extra innings and moved the Gamecocks to 22-3 on the year.

No. 17 Gamecock softball splits final day in Oklahoma

No. 17 South Carolina softball split its final two games in the OG&E Tournament on Sunday at the OU Softball Complex. The Gamecocks defeated Indiana in a 7-3 win before dropping a 5-1 game to No. 5 Oklahoma. 

Gamecocks win series, sweep Princeton Saturday

South Carolina (11-5) notched two wins on Saturday to earn a series sweep of Princeton (0-7) at Founders Park. The Gamecocks beat the Tigers 7-3 in game one and 6-4 in game two, combining for 20 hits and four home runs. Carolina picked up its first series sweep of the season with the wins.

No. 17 Gamecocks' 17-game win streak ends with loss to No. 5 Oklahoma

No. 17 South Carolina softball split its games in its first day at the OG&E Tournament in Norman, Okla., at the OU Softball Complex on Saturday. Carolina overwhelmed Illinois State in a 9-0 win in five innings before dropping a hard-fought 4-2 game to No. 5 Oklahoma.
