Junior catcher Spencer Kieboom (Marietta, GA) and junior righthander Kevin Brady (Gaithersburg, MD) were selected on day-two of the Major League Draft on Tuesday. Kieboom was a fifth-round pick ( #174 overall) of the Washington Nationals, while Brady was a 10th-round pick (#338 overall) of the Philadelphia Phillies. They joined corner infielder Richie Shaffer, who was a first-round pick of the Rays on Monday, as the three Tigers chosen on the first two days (rounds 1-10) of the MLB draft.
South Carolina senior left-hander Michael Roth has been selected in the ninth round of the 2012 MLB Draft. Roth was the No. 297 overall pick in the draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
South Carolina junior outfielder Evan Marzilli has been selected in the eighth round of the 2012 MLB Draft. Marzilli was the No. 273 overall pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Baltimore Orioles drafted a pair of Gamecocks on the second day of the Major League Baseball Draft. Junior first baseman Christian Walker was taken in the fourth round. Redshirt junior closer Matt Price was selected in the seventh round.

Junior corner infielder Richie Shaffer (Charlotte, NC) was selected in the first round of the Major League draft on Monday night. Shaffer was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays with the #25 overall pick. He became the first-ever Tiger drafted by the Rays.
Zane Evans delivered from the plate and the mound, helping Georgia Tech stave off elimination with a 3-0 victory over College of Charleston in the Gainesville Regional on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets (38-25) advanced to play top-seeded Florida later in the day. Georgia Tech needs to beat the Gators twice to advance to the next round of the NCAA tournament.
Clemson remained alive in the 2012 NCAA Columbia Regional with a 5-3 victory over Coastal Carolina on Sunday afternoon at Carolina Stadium. With the victory, the Tigers (35-27) advance to face rival South Carolina today in game six at 4:34 p.m. on ESPNU. The Chanticleers are eliminated and wrap up their season with a 42-19 record.
