Grammar Helps PC Beat Clemson 8-4

Irmo native Gabe Grammar’s six strong innings in his first career start on the mound helped Presbyterian College win 8-4 at Clemson Wednesday. The Blue Hose improved to 10-17 on the season. The Tigers dropped to 12-12.

Jeffery Shines At USC Pro Day

South Carolina receiver Alshon Jeffery hopes he’s finally put the criticisms aside and changed his fortunes for next month’s NFL draft.
The slimmed down, sure-handed Jeffery had a solid 40-yard dash performance and was among the main attractions for NFL personnel attending the school’s pro day on Wednesday.

Tigers Double Up Dawgs, 10-5

Clemson tied its season high with 16 hits en route to a 10-5 win at #18 Georgia in front of 2,691 fans at Foley Field on Tuesday night. The Tigers, who took a 1-0 lead in the home-and-home season series with Georgia, improved to 12-11. The Bulldogs dropped to 17-9 in 2012. Clemson’s win marked its fifth in a row over Georgia. The two teams will square off at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on April 11.

USC Baseball Beats The Citadel, 7-3

Freshman left-hander Jordan Montgomery retired the first nine batters he faced and allowed just one run in 5.2 innings of work to earn his first career win as 10th ranked South Carolina bounced back with a 7-3 win over The Citadel on Tuesday evening in front of 4,417 fans at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston. South Carolina is now 18-7 while The Citadel drops to 9-15 for the season.

Grant To Compete In 3-Point Contest

South Carolina senior guard Markeshia Grant will participate in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships on Thu., March 29, in New Orleans. The 24th annual event showcases the dunking and sharp-shooting talents of 24 of the nation’s top college basketball players.
