Casey Walker scored 17 points to lead five Delaware State players in double figures as the Hornets defeated South Carolina State 82-71 on Thursday night. The Bulldogs (5-25, 0-16) got within five on two occasions in the second half, the last time at 45-40 with 16:19 left, but Walker answered with a 3-pointer and Tate dunked to pull away.

Benedict Survives Double OT Thriller

The Benedict College Tigers rallied back in regulation and two overtime periods before eventually pulling out an 86-85 double overtime victory over the Stillman Tigers in the quarterfinals of the SIAC Men’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday at Forbes Arena on the campus of Morehouse College.

Pankake Has Pancake Day To Remember

Joey Pankake hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and four Gamecock pitchers combined to allow just one run on five hits as second ranked South Carolina defeated Presbyterian 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Carolina Stadium. South Carolina is now 7-0 on the year while the loss drops Presbyterian to 0-8 for the season.

Benedict’s Goode SIAC’s Best For 2nd Straight Year

Benedict College junior center Marcus Goode was named the SIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year for the second year in a row. The Chapin native led the SIAC in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots during the regular season, averaging 18.7 points, 11.2 rebounds, which currently ranks sixth in Division II, and 2.3 blocks per game.
