Blythewood Shocks Lexington, 32-28

After going undefeated through the regular season, Lexington’s perfect season comes to a screeching halt in the first round of the playoffs. Gamecock Baseball Rings Revealed

South Carolina held its 2011 Baseball Banquet on Thursday evening at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The team received their 2011 National Championship rings as well as the 2011 Southeastern Conference Championship rings.

Holloman Likely Out for Florida

DeVonte Holloman likely will not play on Saturday. Holloman suffered a concussion in last Saturday’s loss at Arkansas. Redshirt freshman Brison Williams will likely get the starting nod in place of Holloman.

Shaw Passes Concussion Tests

In his Wednesday teleconference, Gamecock head football coach, Steve Spurrier announced that his starting quarterback Conner Shaw passed all required concussion tests and is cleared to participate fully in practice.

Tigers Hope to Clinch ACC Atlantic on Saturday

CLEMSON, S.C. (WOLO) — The Clemson Tigers are ranked 9th in the latest BCS Standings, but after suffering its first loss of the season a week and a half ago at Georgia Tech, national title hopes are getting a bit more fuzzy. However hopes are still alive for an ACC Atlantic Division Title.

Derek Watson Arrested For Drugs Again

Former South Carolina running back Derek Watson has been arrested on a marijuana distribution charge. Authorities said Watson was arrested in Greenville County around 2 a.m. Sunday. An arrest warrant says Watson sold about 100 grams of marijuana to an undercover Anderson County officer in March.

USC Women’s Soccer To Host NCAA Tourney Game

The South Carolina women’s soccer team earned its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament bid as the 2011 selections to the 64-team tournament were announced Monday afternoon. The Gamecocks (15-6-0) will host the first round of the tournament with the University of Texas Longhorns (11-8-1) traveling to Columbia for the first meeting between the two teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday night at Eugene E. Stone III Stadium in Columbia, S.C.

USC Baseball Making Two ESPNU Appearances

South Carolina will twice be a part of ESPNU’S Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week, as announced by the league office and ESPN on Monday afternoon. The rematch of the 2011 National Championship Series at the College World Series between South Carolina and Florida will open the league package on Thursday, Mar. 22 from Carolina Stadium. In addition, the series opener between the Gamecocks and Alabama at Carolina Stadium will also be broadcast on Thursday, April 26.
