The South Carolina Gamecocks held their second practice of the fall camp Thursday night at the Bluff Road practice fields. It was another hot, muggy night in Columbia, as the Gamecocks worked out in front of a sparse crowd in helmets and shorts.

SC State kicked off preseason practice without the leading receiver from the MEAC last season. Lennel Elmore has been declared ineligible this season. State Head Coach Buddy Pough says the Bulldogs have plenty of time to adjust for Elmore’s absence.

Garcia Fully Reinstated To USC Football Team

South Carolina quarterback Stephen Garcia is officially back on the Gamecocks – again. Coach Steve Spurrier said Monday that Garcia had completed the obligations he was asked to do for returning to the team after the fifth suspension of his college career. “We think he’s going to do what’s right,” Spurrier said by phone. “Sometimes, it takes some guys a little longer, I guess.”

NFL Commish To Visit Panthers Camp

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is starting his summer tour at Carolina. The Panthers said Monday that Goodell would begin his tour of football camps with visit to Wofford College on Wednesday. Goodell plans to hold a question-and-answer session with fans before watching the team workout later that evening.
