Gamecocks Win Extra-Inning Thriller at Alabama
TJ Hopkins had three hits and scored the game-winning run, George Callil made a tremendous diving grab to keep the game alive and Brett Kerry pitched 5.2 scoreless innings to earn the win as the University of South Carolina baseball team picked up a 5-4, 12-inning win over Alabama Saturday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
Senger’s 8th-Inning Double Clinches First Win of Season
Columbia and Charleston played much of Saturday night’s game tied. With the score knotted at two a piece in the bottom of the eighth, Hayden Senger slashed a double that scored what proved to be the go-ahead run. The Fireflies picked up their first win of the season, defeating the RiverDogs, 3-2.

Fireflies fall to RiverDogs, 6-1 Friday
Ronny Mauricio – just one day removed from his 18th birthday – impressed on Friday night against Charleston. The 3rd-rated Mets prospect reached base safely all four plate appearances against the RiverDogs. He and the Fireflies had trouble scoring, though, and it was Charleston who came out on top at Segra Park, 6-1.
