Women Charged with Several Burglaries Around SC

PICKENS, S.C. (AP) _ Pickens County sheriff's deputies say they have put a stop to a pair of women who burglarized homes in a half-dozen counties across South Carolina. Investigators said 41-year-old Brenda Branham was arrested in Pickens County and 53-year-old Carolyn Rodriguez was arrested in Horry County.

"Chick-fil-A Day" Sets Record Sales

New Numbers out today. Customers turned out in droves during the unofficial Chick-fil-A appreciation day Wednesday. Executive Vice President Steve Robinson says it was a record-setting day. Chick-fil-A doesn't release exact sales numbers. Robinson added that "appreciation day" was not a company promotion.

Sumter Attorney Reprimanded for Padding Invoices

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ A South Carolina attorney has been publicly reprimanded for asking a public defender agency to compensate him for more than 24 hours of work in one day. The state Supreme Court said Wednesday that Sumter attorney Charles Thomas Brooks III submitted nearly $62,000 in expenses to the South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense for work representing various clients over more than two years.
