Arrest Made in SC Shooting Over Drugs

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Greenville County deputies say they arrested a man who killed one man and shot another while trying to take marijuana from him. Authorities said 23-year-old Colby Thomas was taken into custody Monday at a motel in Anderson and charged with murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and other charges.

SC River Site Debuts New Green Power Plant

SAVANNAH RIVER SITE, S.C. (AP) _ Officials at the Savannah River Site have opened a $795 million power plant that uses materials like wood chips and shredded tires to provide 30 percent of the electricity for the old nuclear weapons plant near Aiken.

Former Lt. Gov. Sentenced

Former South Carolina Lt. Gov. Ken Ard was sentenced to five years probation and 300 hours of public service after pleading guilty to violating state ethics laws and resigning from office.
