Supt. Of Education -Sheila Gallagher has advanced to a runoff

Columbia, SC (WOLO)-Sheila Gallagher has advanced to a runoff in the Democratic primary for South Carolina's superintendent of education. Gallagher unofficially received 36 percent of the vote Tuesday night making her the biggest vote getter in the primary. She will most likely face either Tom Thompson or Rep. Jerry Govan in the June 24 runoff.

McMaster in lead for SC lieutenant governor

Columbia, SC (WOLO)-Former two-term Attorney General Henry McMaster is in a runoff race in two weeks to be South Carolina's next lieutenant governor. Early returns show McMaster with 44 percent of the vote, putting him in the lead by a margin of 20 percentage points.

Loftis beats newcomer for 2nd term as SC treasurer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) _ South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis has won the Republican primary against political newcomer Brian Adams. Early results show Loftis winning Tuesday with 62 percent of the vote. The outcome means he wins a second term as South Carolina's chief financial officer. As in 2010, no Democrat or third-party candidate is running.

Weathers wins GOP primary for agriculture chief

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - Incumbent Hugh Weathers has won the Republican primary for South Carolina's agriculture commissioner. Early returns show the 57-year-old Weathers winning Tuesday's Republican primary with 64 percent of the vote over Joe Farmer.

Dickerson wins Dem primary, to face Scott in Nov.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - Richland County Council member Joyce Dickerson has won South Carolina's Democratic primary to face U.S. Sen. Tim Scott. Early returns showed the 68-year-old Dickerson winning Tuesday's primary with 67 percent of the vote over former York County Council member Sidney Moore and Myrtle Beach attorney Harry Pavilack.

Bob Livingston Defeats Challenger For Adjutant General

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)-Bob Livingston has defeated his GOP primary challenger in his bid to be re-elected South Carolina's top military officer. Early returns in Tuesday's primary show Livingston with 77 percent of the vote over 45-year-old James Breazeale. Livingston has no opposition in November.

Richland County, SC (WOLO)-An investigation in Richland County continues tonight. Investigators are trying to figure out how a meth lab exploded. Authorities are trying to locate two adults and a three month old child following the explosion this morning at regency mobile home park on alpine road.
