Graham urges GOP unity after primary win

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) โ€” After his outright victory in Tuesday's GOP primary, a tearful U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham thanked his supporters for believing in him despite a six-way challenge to his conservative credentials.

Supt. Of Education -Sheila Gallagher has advanced to a runoff

Columbia, SC (WOLO)-Sheila Gallagher has advanced to a runoff in the Democratic primary for South Carolina's superintendent of education. Gallagher unofficially received 36 percent of the vote Tuesday night making her the biggest vote getter in the primary. She will most likely face either Tom Thompson or Rep. Jerry Govan in the June 24 runoff.

McMaster in lead for SC lieutenant governor

Columbia, SC (WOLO)-Former two-term Attorney General Henry McMaster is in a runoff race in two weeks to be South Carolina's next lieutenant governor. Early returns show McMaster with 44 percent of the vote, putting him in the lead by a margin of 20 percentage points.

Loftis beats newcomer for 2nd term as SC treasurer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) _ South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis has won the Republican primary against political newcomer Brian Adams. Early results show Loftis winning Tuesday with 62 percent of the vote. The outcome means he wins a second term as South Carolina's chief financial officer. As in 2010, no Democrat or third-party candidate is running.

Weathers wins GOP primary for agriculture chief

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - Incumbent Hugh Weathers has won the Republican primary for South Carolina's agriculture commissioner. Early returns show the 57-year-old Weathers winning Tuesday's Republican primary with 64 percent of the vote over Joe Farmer.
