Billy Kennerly and Austin Langdale, two of the top golfers on Clemson’s NCAA Tournament team this past spring, both finished in the top five of the Palmetto Amateur in Aiken, S.C. on Saturday.

The Atlanta Falcons have reached terms on a four-year contract with defensive end Vic Beasley, the NFL’s No. 8 overall draft pick.

Clemson graduate Stephen Behr has been named a Capital One Division 1 Academic All-American as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Junior righthander Brody Koerner (Concord, N.C.) was selected in the 17th round (No. 513 overall pick) by the New York Yankees, junior righty Clate Schmidt (Acworth, Ga.) was picked in the 32nd round (No. 951 overall) by the Boston Red Sox and sophomore Eli White (Easley, S.C.) was chosen in the 37th round (No. 1117 overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Sophomore catcher Chris Okey (Mount Dora, Fla.) was named a first-team All-American by NCBWA on Wednesday.

Four current Tigers and one Clemson signee were selected on the second day of the Major League Baseball draft Tuesday. Junior lefthander Zack Erwin (Duluth, Ga.) and junior infielder Tyler Krieger (Johns Creek, Ga.) were both picked in the fourth round, while junior outfielder Steven Duggar (Moore, S.C.) and junior lefty Matthew Crownover (Ringgold, Ga.) were both chosen in the sixth round. Clemson's four top-10-round selections tied for sixth most among Division I schools.

Former Clemson golfer Sam Saunders had consecutive rounds of six-under-par 66 at the United States Open Sectional Qualifier in Columbus, Ohio on Monday and will play in the 2015 United States Open in two weeks at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. Saunders will be joined by former Clemson golfers Ben Martin and Lucas Glover, who were already exempted into the prestigious professional major.

Miller Capps had a second round 76 to pace Clemson at the NCAA National Tournament at Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla on Saturday.. Clemson enters the third round with a 615 stroke total, 30th in the field of 30 teams.

Pepperdine broke an 8-8 tie with two runs in the ninth inning to defeat Clemson 10-8 in the Fullerton Regional at Goodwin Field on Saturday afternoon. The Waves, who stayed alive in the losers’ bracket, improved to 31-28. The Tigers’ season came to an end with a 32-29 record.

Joey Bielek’s two-run homer in the seventh inning gave No. 18 Arizona State the lead for good in its 7-4 win over Clemson in the opening game of the Fullerton Regional at Goodwin Field on Friday afternoon. The Sun Devils, who moved into the winners’ bracket, improved to 35-21 on the season. The Tigers, who fell into the losers’ bracket, dropped to 32-28 in 2015.

Clemson sophomore Austin Langdale fired an even par 72 to lead Clemson to a 306 team score during the first round of the NCAA National Tournament at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. Clemson is in 27th place out of 30 teams after the first day with the 18 over team score.

The funeral for former Clemson men’s basketball head coach Bill Foster will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C.

Junior lefthander Matthew Crownover (Ringgold, Ga.) and sophomore catcher Chris Okey (Mount Dora, Fla.) were named All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball on Thursday. Crownover was a first-team selection, while Okey was a second-team pick.

Nine of Clemson’s athletic programs recorded semester grade point ratios above a 3.0, and 234 student-athletes posted spring semester marks at 3.0 and above, according to data provided by the University Office of Institutional Research.

Clemson Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney received the 2015 Gene Stallings Award Tuesday night at a banquet in Dallas, Tex. The award was presented to Swinney by his former offensive coordinator, Chad Morris, now the head football coach at SMU.

Catcher Chris Okey (Mount Dora, Fla.) has accepted an invitation from USA Baseball to play for the 2015 Collegiate National Team this summer.
