Florida scored five of its seven runs in the middle innings en route to a 7-3 win over the University of South Carolina baseball team in both team’s Southeastern Conference opener Friday night (March 16) at Founders Park.

Gamecocks earn first SEC win with 7-3 victory at Ole Miss

No. 17 South Carolina opened up SEC play with a commanding 7-3 win over No. 23 Ole Miss on Friday at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. Carolina took an early 5-0 lead it wouldn’t surrender thanks to four runs with two outs in the fourth to help the Gamecocks to their first win over a ranked opponent in 2018. 

Gamecocks move Pro Day

The South Carolina football program will hold its annual Pro Timing Day on Tuesday, March 20, when 12 draft-eligible former Gamecock players are slated to work out for NFL coaches and scouts.

Gamecocks face #2 Florida to open SEC play

The University of South Carolina baseball team opens play in the Southeastern Conference as the Gamecocks welcome No. 2 Florida to Founders Park for a weekend series. The series starts on Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. with Saturday’s game beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday’s series finale will start at 1 p.m. 

Gamecocks schedule games with App State, Troy and Georgia State

The Gamecocks have agreed to a three-game series with Appalachian State University. The Mountaineers will come to Columbia and Williams-Brice Stadium on November 9, 2019, with the Gamecocks making a return trip to Boone, N.C., on September 20, 2025. An additional game is scheduled for Columbia at a date to be determined during the 2027 season.

Wilson named finalist for National Player of the Year

South Carolina senior forward A’ja Wilson has been named a finalist for the 2018 Wade Trophy, the WBCA announced Wednesday. The Hopkins, S.C., native is one of four finalists for the national player of the year honor, joining Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu, Ohio State’s Kelsey Mitchell and UConn’s Katie Lou Samuelson.

Junior Grayson Byrd hit his second, third and fourth career home runs in No. 2 Clemson's 5-0 win over Charleston Southern at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday night. The Tigers, who won their eighth game in a row and recorded their first shutout of 2018, improved to 16-1, while the Buccaneers fell to 6-12.
