HIGHLIGHTS: USC tops Winthrop for fourth-straight win

The University of South Carolina baseball team's offense exploded for a season-high 15 runs and six Gamecock pitchers held Winthrop in check in a 15-2 win over the Eagles Wednesdayafternoon (Feb. 21) at Founders Park. South Carolina has now won four straight games.

Gamecocks host Georgia tonight

South Carolina begins its final stretch of the regular season on Wednesday, hosting Georgia at 6:30 p.m. (SEC Network). The meeting is the second between the two former SEC East rivals, as the Gamecocks posted a 64-57 win in the first matchup in Athens on Jan. 13. 

(11) Clemson rolls past Furman, 12-4

Chris Williams went 2-for-4 with a homer, double and career-high six RBIs to lead No. 11 Clemson to a 12-4 victory over Furman at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers, who took a 1-0 lead in the home-and-home season series and won their 18th game in a row over Furman, improved to 4-0, while the Paladins dropped to 3-1.

Gamecocks beat UNF, 5-2 Tuesday afternoon

The University of South Carolina baseball team picked up its third straight win, defeating North Florida, 5-2, behind a balanced effort from the pitching staff and strong plate appearances that included 10 hits, a double, a triple, and a home run.

Keenan hangs on to beat Greenville Tech, 45-43

Keenan hung on for a 45-43 win over Greenville Tech in the Upper State Semifinals Tuesday night. With the win, the Raiders now advance to the Upper State Finals against Gray Collegiate Saturday at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville.

Ridge View powers past Aiken, 77-61

Ridge View booked its ticket to the Upper State Finals, after a big 77-61 win over Aiken on the road. The Blazers now face South Aiken Friday at 8:30 p.m. for the right to the state title game.

South Aiken ends Westwood's season, 65-64

South Aiken edged Westwood Tuesday night, 65-64 in the 4A Upper State Semifinals. The Thoroughbreds now face off with Ridge View Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the Upper State Championship.

Irmo cruises past West Ashley, 57-43

Irmo is heading to the Lower State Championship, after beating West Ashley on the road, 57-43 Tuesday night. The Yellow Jackets now face Blythewood at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Florence Civic Center for the second consecutive season.

USC to honor A'ja Wilson, Lindsey Spann on Senior Night Thursday

South Carolina women’s basketball will celebrate seniors Lindsey Spann and A’ja Wilson prior to Thursday’s 6:30 p.m. tipoff against LSU at Colonial Life Arena. Fans will have an opportunity to share their appreciation with this year’s senior class as well as collect souvenir items prior to the on-court ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 6:10 p.m.

No. 24 Gamecock softball downs UNC, 5-0

No. 24 South Carolina softball extended its season-high winning streak to seven games with a 5-0 win over North Carolina on Tuesday night at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. Dixie Raley, in just her second start at Carolina, moved to 3-0 on the season with the victory in four innings of work. 

Newberry drops home opener to Roberts Wesleyan

The Wolves celebrated the home opener for the Men’s Lacrosse newly added program. Although the momentum and energy was behind the team, they fell to the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan 8-6.
